OUR STORY

SEI is a business and technology consulting firm committed to consistent delivery and collaborative partnerships. Founded in Cincinnati in 1992, SEI now employs more than 330 consultants in 10 branch offices across the United States.

Built on the values of excellence, participation, integrity, and collaboration, our company culture is what sets us apart. At SEI, our mission is to uphold our culture and values while being the consulting firm of choice for clients and talent in top U.S. markets.

Our founder, Dan Pierce, recognized the inherent shortcomings of fly-in-fly-out consulting: clients receive impersonal, inconsistent service and consultants are forced to regularly leave their families and live out of suitcases. In an effort to address clients’ need for collaborative, end-to-end support and consultants’ need for security, trust, and independence, Dan reimagined the traditional consulting model, establishing a one-of-a-kind, local, employee-owned firm. In doing so, he created a model that empowers our consultants to view individual and organizational success as one and the same, infusing the firm with a people-first culture that values teamwork and mutual respect.

With support from our national organization, our seasoned local teams take a holistic approach to each engagement, working with client stakeholders to solve problems efficiently, sustainably, and at scale. No matter the project, our consultants ensure that solutions meet clients’ short-term needs and long-term goals.
